Treats ADHD, Reduces symptoms of Depression, Anxiety or Fear/Phobia and Chronic Pain.
Effective neurofeedback training typically takes anywhere from 12 to 35 sessions. Suggested in office treatment 2-3 times a week.
What is Neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback is a way to train brain activity and improve brain functioning by improving brainwave pattern. Scientific Research has proved that our brains are flexible and continue to learn at any age
Brainwaves are the electrical waves produced as our brain cells communicate with one another. Brainwaves tell us a great deal about how we feel and function; our thoughts, habits, stress levels, underlying mood and overall brain function
Using sensors on the scalp, we measure and monitor this brainwave activity. With brain analysis software, we can identify what specific activity is giving rise to your symptoms and help design a treatment program to reduce these symptoms or improve in functioning
During a neurofeedback session, we compare what your brain is doing to what you'd like it to be doing. When your brain is nearing the desired state, you are rewarded with a positive response on a computer screen. This “reward” is in the form of playing a video game, listening to music, or watching a TV show/video clip.
This neurofeedback, “reward”, tells you immediately when your brain approaches a more efficient place and when it is not. When the game/music/video plays, it is because your brain is approaching the desired state. When the game stops, it is because your brain is heading the other way or you’ve lost focus in that moment
Much like physical exercise develops specific muscles in our body, the more your brain is exercised into reaching an efficient state, the better it gets at repeating this behavior outside in the real world. As with learning any new skill, it simply requires time and repetition
HEART RATE VARIABILITY
Reduces symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Depression, Anxiety, Poor Sleep and Improves Peak Performance in Athletes and Executives
Effective HRV training typically takes 4-6 weeks. One time a week in the office with homework and daily practice exercises assigned
Heart rate variability (HRV) is a measure of the continuous interplay between sympathetic and parasympathetic influences on heart rate that yields information about autonomic flexibility Thereby HRV represents the capacity for regulated emotional responding. HRV is related to interaction between sympathetic and parasympathetic influences at sinoatrial node in the heart. HRV interacts with respiratory and blood pressure regulation.
Why is HRV training beneficial?
Effective emotional regulation depends on being able to flexibly adjust your physiological response to a changing environment. The first session I will do a resonant frequency evaluation on the patient. This resonant frequency is the patient’s ideal breath rate that is specific to him/her and will be used to improve their HRV.
